In my own experience, Imigran alternatives, Buy no prescription Imigran online, my horses have only balked at doing what I ask in a few situations:

•    Instances when I got in a hurry and didn’t teach the mechanics of the movement well enough in an orderly sequence. I’m working with a couple of horses now whose posture choices and balance habits mean one “hates the round pen” and the other “kicks out a lot, so be careful of him on the longe line.” Both of them exhibit some combination of classic bad carriage on a circle – head high, hollow back, hindquarters disengaged and nose tipped out, shoulder dropped in, hindquarters disengaged. Hi Stacy – I was thrilled when I saw this article. . . the timing was uncanny, as this was exactly the problem I have been encountering this very week with my horse Mojave. I’ve been trying to get him to keep trotting more than one circle for months, and yesterday, he finally did. Thanks so much for the insight and encouragement!

Does the bad carriage come from being chased around “to get the bucks out” rather than encouraged to balance in each gait? Sometimes I think longeing is a lost art.

I thought of you tonight when longeing the babygreenie. BEAUTIFUL balanced trot off a nice walk circle. Her first really balanced trot (about the third ever on the longe). :)

Yes, Judy, I think that’s one big reason why so many horse go around in bad posture. Too many people miss out on all the lovely nuances of what they can accomplish with horses on the ground if they just think about it a bit and spend some time. I’m doing my bit to keep this fading art in the consciousness of those horse folks who are interested.
Glad to hear Ms. E is making good progress! Good work.

  3. “My horse hates….” often means “I don’t yet have the skill to ride/train…”
Horses merely react to what we do. Educate the rider/trainer and miracle of miracles the horses change how they react.
Not teaching your horse a basic skill like longing properly, is like not teaching your child his ABC’s. Ground work is basic stuff, and can be lots of fun for you and your horse. It is so easy to connect it in a logical way to future work from the saddle. If it is not going well then get some (good) professional help.
