Thanks for all the love and learning in the past year, Sport and Ichobod.
Some timely words from a good friend, who has lost two of her beloved horses in the past year. She sent this note recently after hearning from a friend whose horse died suddenly of an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
“Go out and hug your horses. Enjoy the time you get to have with them. Let’s be thankful of the equines that have come into our lives to become our friends …. and our family.”
Wishing you many horse hugs (and plenty from people and other critters, too) this Thanksgiving!
6 horses here send Thanksgiving Snuffles (and hope for Thanksgiving Apple Peelings, even though they are Canadian and tomorrow is a normal ol’ Thursday up here.
)
Every day I am truly grateful to see my horse in his stall after colic surgery. I will never take for granted for this amazing horse that I adore….I get my horse hugs every day twice somtimes. I find a quiet peace in those hugs.
. He still even in his healing stage, sees me for what I can be, not what I am. I am so thankful to still have him and told him he needs me with as long or longer than Ichbold!!!
It’s good to appreciate every day we have with our horse. Plus, aren’t horse hugs the best?
It is going to be almost 70 degrees in Colorado today…the turkey will wait until Sunday, we are headed out to ride! Even with the ups and downs of farm life, we are thankful for every minute and every lesson we have been taught. Happy Thanksgiving!
What a luxury in Colo! Have a wonderful ride, a great turkey dinner on Sunday and wish your mom a happy holiday for me! P.S. My mom asked about you recently … said she hasn’t seen you in a while and says hi!
